The Mental Health Policy and Implementation Guide
The Department of Health published a policy and implementation guide in 2000 offering guidance on how adult mental health services needed to develop services locally. The guide highlighted the need for new services to work alongside existing services to address gaps in current provision. The recommendation on how to deliver an Early Intervention in Psychosis Service is discussed in detail alongside other developments including Crisis Services, Assertive Outreach, Primary Care, and Mental Health Promotion.
