Health Services
Your GP - visiting your GP is a good starting point. They can offer you advice about general mental health issues and can refer you to primary mental health care teams or specific mental health services such as those listed below.
Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) – provides services for children aged 0-16. Child and adolescent services 0-16 teams, child and family units, and inpatient and day treatment services at Little Woodhouse Hall. Your GP can advise you about CAMHS.
Adult Mental Health Services (provided by Leeds Mental Health Trust) – offer services for adults aged 17 to 65 suffering from mental health problems. The adult service has a range of teams across the city including: Community Mental Health Teams, Day Treatment Services, Assertive Outreach Team, Acute inpatient teams and other specialist teams such as Crisis Resolution. Your GP can advise you about Adult Mental Health Services.
Voluntary Services
Leeds also has a range of voluntary services which you can usually access directly yourself, and some are listed below.
The Market Place – provides support, information and counselling for young people aged 13-25 in Leeds with free and confidential drop in services. See www.tmpweb.org.uk
Archway – offers support to young people, aged 16-25 living in or around the Harehills and Chapeltown areas of Leeds, and who are in need of housing or more general support to live independently. See www.archway-leeds.org.uk
